Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken presents a new version of his Right Angle Mirror with Galerie Kreo in Paris.
The mirror is made by laminated sheets of mirror-polished stainless steel. It is positioned at a 90-degree angle to the wall – this creates reflections and shadows cast on it’s surrounding space. When standing next to the wall, looking at the reflection, the Right Angle Mirror has the mode as a mirror. But when taking a step out from the wall, it no longer reflects something recognizable, only the surface it is mounted on. At that point it is transformed into a sculpture where the curves touching the wall create the illusion of it being suspended in space.
