Nighthouse by Lianne Siebring isn’t just a bedside table but is the result of a search for the most ideal nightstand. Why don’t nightstands have lights? Why can’t you find the right page of the book the next day? With these questions Lianne Siebring designed Nighthouse by Night. A book can easily be placed on the roof, ensuring you won’t have to search for the right page the next day. Another thing that makes the design unique is the lighting that is already built into the nightstand.

In the new production edition a different fitting will be used, Lianne is still busy looking for a nice, suitable fitting. The foot is made from metal and the house of birch plywood.

Convert was developed out of the need for more and more flexibility in all areas. A table should not only be space-saving, but also offer as much work space as possible. In addition it should be adjustable for height and as light as possible, to be repositioned all the time. After analyzing such interactions between human and product, we came up with the idea of developing a new kind of table, which is subdivided into three layers. The table is suitable to every situation of height, usage and situation concerning the user.

Convert doesn’t only provide the opportunity to eat and to prepare a meal, but also to work or as a kind of small buffet for events. It’s designed for smaller households. Each single element can easily be used by sliding it out. So it provides different amount of space and different seat and standing heights. All in all the table is designed lightly and without attending too much attention. The material consumption is reduced to a minimum and the overall modern form reflects elegance and quality. These aspects are brought out by using oiled beech. By bending over the tables’ surfaces, it’s managed to avoid more constructive parts.

This table is a seed shaped plantable. it is made in fine walnut veneer and solid maple wood, the bowl is handmade porcelain. spire is designed for a seed center in bergen where you can learn about seeds, consume and swap seeds. the bowl in the center is for growing herbs or storing fruit. the butterfly table tops can be opened up and the space beneath can be used for storing table ware or small gardening tools for example. inspired by hundertwassers’ baummieter and goldsworthys seed sculptures i designed and build this metamorphosis of an avocado-sunflowerseed-walnutshell.

Architectural & Furniture designer Robert van Embricqs about the project: “A conscious choice for functionality in design, doesn’t necessarily mean one has to be burdened by conformity, let alone predictability. The Rising Table ignores the cliched notion that a table is little more than a flat surface that is held up by four separate legs. The result is a surprising mixture of fluid design that blends the multifaceted tabletop with the latticework of wooden beams that function as the center of the construct. From there, the table sprouts four wooden beams that hold up the entire construct. Not only does this design approach rid itself of every single predictable feature when one imagines a table, it also emphasizes that the Rising Table is indeed made from a single piece of wood. This proves the Rising Table isn’t merely an eye catcher when it comes to design, it can also hold its own as a functional piece of furniture, albeit with a twist.

Sidenote: the applied construction techniques to create both the Rising Chair and the Rising Table, emphasize on its relative applicable ease for production on a mass scale.”

Designer Volodymyr Karalyus about project: ” Lamp consist of two elements: tube with illumination and wooden basis. Tube is made from polished copper or painted in colour. Wooden basis could be combined with iPhone dock station and integrated speakers or without them both.

Also if user need/love spot lamp, he/she can choose other type – “1Lamp” – it is a similar lamp like a 7Lamp, but in this type – light beam is more focused.”

The table Bambi can be used at two different levels; as a coffee table or a small dining table. The table is inspired by the anatomy of the knee, where the bones can only bend one way. The location and angle of the table legs, as well as the meeting points of the joints, help keeping the table upright and stable. When the table is folded down and used at the lower level it can give you associations to a small foal who has bent its legs and laid down to rest in the meadow.
