These positively stunning ceramic bowls by Geraldine De Beco for Bernardaud provide a twist on these beloved pieces from our childhood. Would like to eat your cereals out of this bowl each morning?

As a kid, our favoritebowls and cups were the one’s with a surprise waiting at the bottom of the vessel. Like a small ceramic bunny or puppy. You had to slurp up all the milk in order to reveal the critter at the bottom. You must fill the vessel with liquid in order to reveal the surprise, whether it be a cat, wolf or bird. Pretty amazing, huh?

Product designer Anika Engelbrecht about project: “The Swell vases are inspired by the natural process of growing and fading of plants. Made out of of unglazed ceramic with various cutouts and colorful rubber balloons inside. The water fills the balloons and forces them out of the perforations of the vases.”
